Ministries that are important to the church
1. Focus on the building up of families
The church emphasises on the ministry of families because when the families are lively, the church will also grow naturally. We want to build up each family in the word of the Lord and nurture Christian homes. We pray that the Lord will bless each and every family, that as each child seek to grow in their faith in the Lord, lives will be renewed, grace and blessings will abound in each and every one of us.
2. Focus on discipleship
Building up believers to become disciples of the Lord is an important task. Through the study of the Bible, encouraging and sharing with one another, we aim to build the faith and knowledge of the Lord’s disciples. Being a disciple of God is to resolve to become like Christ, follow in His footsteps, and emulate Him until Christ’s way of living resides within us. With a vision and a purpose, there is a sense of direction, and the desire to seek the Lord increases. This then results in true commitment, an affirmation of faith, the seeking of God’s will, being fearless of storms in life, receive God’s gracious words, actively seek to do good, and strive toward the purposes of Life.
3. Focus on Missions and Evangelism
The love of Christ is incredibly great, wide, long, high and deep. It is the content of the gospel, the power which sends the church sharing the gospel. Missions and evangelism are the lifeblood of the Church, regardless of whether there is time available, there is a need to share the gospel, to share the love of Christ. What a beautiful act! (As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news! Rom 10:15)
Every believer has the high and holy calling with a noble identity of being a great influence. When God’s children are willing to go out, walk among the peoples, and share the gospel to the people they come to interact within the day to day living, they bring the love of God into the world, and that’s how they are being witnesses for the Lord by being the Light and Salt of the world.
May each and every brother and sister in Christ at Goodwood Methodist Church trust in the Lord, and through the one who empowers us with strength, live out the precious new identity that the Lord gives, the sacred calling that the Lord entrusted to us, and the glorious commission bestowed by the Lord!

在基督里的生活是一种福气，因有主的生命活在我们里面。有生命就一定会成长，有成长一定会有果实。这果实就是用爱心说诚实话，凡事长进，连於元首基督，全身都靠他联络得合式，百节各按各职，照著各体的功用彼此相助，就会渐渐增长，在爱中建立自己。有了生命，有了爱为信仰根基，我们要将心志改换一新， 脱去旧人穿上新人；这新人是照著神的形像造的，有真理的仁义和圣洁。让我们享受神所给我们预备的一切丰厚的恩福。（参弗4: 15-16；23-24）
教会所推动事工重点关注三方面：
1. 注重建立家庭
教会看重推动家庭事工，因为家庭健康有活力，教会就自然健康成长。教会要努力建立每一个家庭，在主的话语中得造就，培育基督化家庭。求天父赐福每一个家庭，每一位儿女都追求主里扎根成长，生命更新，家家蒙恩，人人蒙福。
2. 注重门徒训练
建造信徒成为主的门徒是很重要的。通过一起学习圣经，彼此鼓励，互相分享，从中建立了作主门徒的信念和认知。作主门徒就是立志生命更像主耶稣，学像耶稣，跟随耶稣，效法耶稣，直到主生命成形在我们里面。有了异象和目标，方向就肯定，追求心更增长。如此才能带来真正的委身，坚定信心，寻求神心意，不畏风雨，领受恩言，积极行道，努力向前，向着标杆直跑。
3. 注重宣教布道
主的爱是何等伟大长阔高深，是福音的内容，是教会传福音的动力。宣教与布道是教会的命脉，立志无论得时不得时，务要传道，将主的爱分享，这样的行动是何等宝贵。每位信徒都扮演着崇高的地位，神圣的角色，高贵的身份和卓越的影响力。当神的儿女们都愿意走出去，走近群众，通过每天生活中所接触的人与他们分享主福音时，就是把主的爱带进人群里，就是发挥为主做光做盐的见证。
教会是基督的身体， 信徒是连於元首基督，各尽其职，互相成全，彼此建立，使主的心意在教会中得以落实。大家一起追求成圣，直等到我们众人在真道上同归於一，认识神的儿子，得以长大成人，满有基督长成的身量。（弗4:12-13）
